Happy is the man that finds Wisdom, and the man that gets understanding. It is better than silver or gold – Proverbs 3: 13,14 Get Wisdom….Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Proverbs 4: 5-7
The writer of the Proverbs was well aware of the value of wisdom in daily decisions. Many of King Solomon’s decisions were unpopular and unconventional. However, the outcome of these decisions (i.e., decision to split the baby in half to determine the true mother) always extended life and benefited the masses with educational wisdom. Solomon who recorded in the Book of Proverbs 4: 7:Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom, taught us that Wisdom is the God given ability to know how to apply what you know to what you do. It is more than information. It is more than details and instructions. Wisdom is the application of knowledge and the value that application adds to the quality of life and one’s relationship with God and man. It is more than knowledge. It is know how. It is more than having data. It is discernment. The word of wisdom, therefore, is the gift to be able to speak wisdom to people and situations. For sometimes, it takes as much wisdom to speak the wise thing as it does to know the wise thing. So recognize this great value in your daily decisions and spend it every time you get an opportunity.
