Praise is an expression of “Worship” that acknowledges the goodness, the greatness, or love towards a person, a place, or a thing. It’s a universal principle that if you give praise to something or someone you will gain power in some form. Sales persons use this technique each day in all areas of business. They praise the potential purchaser for what they have or for what they want to buy; and that simple praise enhances the sales person’s position or power to close the sale. They give praise, they get power. Little Willie Myrick was taken by a kidnapper from his home, the kidnapper assumed a ransom would be his reward. Little Willie gave Praise to God while in the kidnapper’s car, singing “Every Praise is to our God,” eventually generating the power of God’s goodness to caused his captor to release him. Little Willie gave praise, He got power. II Chronicles 20:15-22; King Jehoshaphat was faced with potential destruction from the enemy armies. Instead of securing more weapons or more soldiers, he instructed the army to give way to the singers who would go before the army and face the enemy, “singing praises to the Lord.” So the singers sang “Praise the Lord, for His mercy endures forever.” From that point the enemy forces became confused and began to fight among themselves and were soon defeated. Israel gave praise and they got power.
I encourage you to learn this principle and put it into practice daily. Don’t worry or become fearful in your negative situations. Lift your hands and praise God from whom all blessings flow. He will give you power to overcome your negative circumstances and provide a means for victory in your life each day. Give Praise, Get Power!
